Mid Year Update

I’m not feeling particularly inspired right now but I’m hearing things and now is a good time to describe my year.

First of all I think I should blog about something other than my self because I’ve been told I talk about myself too much. However I do think it’s ok to do it in this post. I don’t have any calendars or planners in front of me right now so I’ll have to just remember what happened this year.

In the first half of the year I did two important things. I got involved with America Works through the Ticket to Work program. I also left America Works and joined SEES to get help going back to school. Curt at SEES helped me apply for college and got me started with financial aid. May he RIP. He’s the one who told me W.R.A.P. was starting in September. That was the last time I saw him. W.R.A.P stands for Wellness Recovery Action Plan. I was trying to enroll in a Web class in the back nine weeks of the spring semester but it didn’t work out because I didn’t do my FAFSA on time. Besides there was a class I wanted to take first.

Fast forward to Summer and I had a bunch of dentist appointments. Well we’re still in Summer but you know what I mean. I also had some other appointments.

Side note: I think I should be careful with sharing where I go to. You never know who’s reading.

Next I started school. It’s the first time I’ve been taking over three units in four years. I hope I make a wise decision about which classes I stay in and that I do well in those classes.

I write so my words and story can last longer than me. My name is Debrezion; I’m also known as Derezion, Dee or Azen. I always know where I’m at by what people call me. I enjoy church, using computers, and of course writing. I’ve been to Ethiopia twice. I was reared in California, USA but my parents are from Ethiopia. I’m lucky to be alive and I should thank God for that.
